ARTIST SPOTLIGHT

SAHIL ROY

Sahil Roy is a multi-disciplinary artist & designer based in Melbourne, Australia. With a creative foundation as a graffiti artist spanning over a decade, his transition into an abstract approach has allowed him to explore an entirely new avenue of style & creative self-expression.

After years of bill postering, scrawls and impressive graffiti pieces, Roy’s now signature layering processes enable him to capture his own visual narratives, floating through dynamic layers of stylistic introspection.

MUSICIAN SPOTLIGHT

grentperez

Music lulls us into a meditative state. It allows us to relax, reflect, and, ultimately, recharge. Sydney-born independent singer, songwriter, artist and producer grentperez unlocks this place—whether in the studio, on stage, or under the watchful eye of the computer camera in his childhood bedroom where he first began recording his music. His handcrafted DIY pop instantly soothes on a series of releases that have helped endear grentperez to rapidly growing audiences at home in Australia as well as further afield in North America, South East Asia and Europe.

SOME OF OUR CHARITY PARTNERS YOU WILL BE SUPPORTING
All Together Now
Racism sux, and the good folks at All Together Now have a vision and a directive for a racially equitable Australia. Their projects are evidence-based and relate to educating Australians about racism, keeping the mainstream media bastards honest and countering far-right extremism by training front-line workers. Charity starts at home, and we couldn’t be prouder to partner with these home-grown heroes.
Asylum Seeker Centre
The Asylum Seekers Centre is a not-for-proft organization that provides practical and personal support for people living in the community who are seeking asylum. Some of the services they provide include accommodation, financial relief, health care, employment assistance, education and food, while also advocating for political change.
batyr
Suicide is the leading cause of death for young people in Australia. Due to the stigma and discrimination most young people dealing with mental health issues do not reach out for support. batyr focus on early intervention and preventative education programs. The programs place them front and centre with young people, in schools, universities and workplaces. Early intervention can have a life-changing impact on a young person’s mental health, and the communities they create mean young people get the help they need, sooner.
HalfCut
Trees are our planets future and forests are one of our best chances to beat the Climate Crisis. Halfcut is dedicated to the protection and re-generation of the planets remaining forests. Over 50% of the world’s forests are destroyed and it’s imperative we stop destroying them now. Your purchase will go a long way to protecting crucial forests for habitat for threatened and endangered species, protect Traditional Owners land rights and start mass tree planting projects.
Indigenous Literacy Foundation
Reading opens doors, and so much more. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children living in remote Australia are falling way behind the minimum reading standards and the Indigenous Literacy Foundation is closing the gap by supplying books and empowering First Nations Peoples to write and illustrate in their own language.
Minus18
Minus18 are champions for LGBTQIA+ young people. They are leading change, building social inclusion, and advocating for an Australia where all young people are safe, empowered, and surrounded by people that support them. Minus18 leads the way through training, resources, education and events to support and enrich the lives of LGBTQIA+ young people around Australia.
Save the Children
Save The Children give a powerful voice to vulnerable children and champion their rights. Giving children a healthy start in life, the facility and opportunity of education, the protection from harm and the necessities for a life well lived, Save The Children has a mighty impact in 117 countries and has been doing so since 1919. Their incredible and inspiring programs put children first and reach innocent kids in the toughest of places and during the most extreme humanitarian emergencies. It definitely puts things into perspective when talking to and supporting these guys.
WAGEC
Women’s and Girls’ Emergency Centre (WAGEC) is a feminist, grassroots organisation that supports women and families in crisis and advocates for social change in the community. We are based in Redfern, Sydney and work on the lands of the Gadigal and Wangal people of the Eora Nation.

There are only a few simple steps you need to take to be on your way to support digital artists!

Step 1: Download MetaMask
Step 2: Purchase enough ETH to bid on the artwork you like + transaction fees (gas fees)
Step 3: Head over to Foundation Marketplace
Step 4: Bid on your favourite artwork!

For ONE, we have chosen to mint our NFT’s on the Ethereum blockchain through the Foundation Marketplace. Foundation is a community curated marketplace, it has maintained a focus around community, quality, characteristics of a traditional gallery. This care and community is intrinsically important for digital art.

How Does a Reserve Auction on Foundation Work?

To participate in Reserve Auctions on Foundation, you’ll need to have enough ETH in your wallet to place bids and pay for gas fees.
The two main components of a Reserve Auction is a reserve price and a countdown timer. A creator or seller sets the reserve price for the NFT they want to sell. If you find a work that you want to acquire at auction, placing the first bid will kick off a 24-hour countdown timer.

What is Crypto and How Can I Buy an NFT?

Crypto(Cryptocurrencies) can seem like quite a daunting rabbit hole. A topic that is often tainted with negative ideology and misinformed uncertainty. However, crypto is rather quite a beautiful thing.
To begin, you need enough Ethereum (ETH) to buy your favourite artwork and a crypto-wallet to store that ETH in. For this exhibition, its easiest to head over to MetaMask and deposit from your bank account. Follow their guides on how to set up your account and buy ETH with AUD.
To buy an NFT, you need a Metamask to directly connect you to the Foundation Marketplace and many other blockchain applications. Please follow the directions provided by your wallet about sending ETH to another wallet. You’ll need to set up a Metamask wallet ( The crypto wallet & gateway to Web3 blockchain apps | MetaMask ) which you’ll then top up with ETH from your main wallet.
Here is a list of popular wallets, but we recommend doing your own research:

https://www.coinspot.com.au/

https://www.binance.com/en/markets/

https://www.ledger.com/

Fundamentally crypto is a community owned and driven currency that is decentralised, meaning it is not controlled by the banks or a government. Crypto is a part of a broader entity/idea called Web3 (What is Web 3.0? (Explained with Animations) – YouTube), where it’s use is to be the tender for the exchange of goods and services specific to Web3.0, these include: NFTs – DAOs – Smart Contracts.
There are many different crypto currencies, however most of the Web3.0 infrastructure is built on the Ethereum blockchain (What is a Blockchain? (Animated + Examples) – YouTube) due to its security and utility. This infrastructure is not physical but is digital.

Please read the scope of the buyer’s rights located in Foundation.app terms of service. Also, please be aware that NFTs and crypto are volatile and may lose some or all value. Nothing written is intended as advice. Please do your own research and seek professional financial and taxation advice.
